A Burn’s Night Curry

Sunday Jan 23, 2011 | Maharajahs

On 25th of January we celebrate the birth of Scotlands great poet Robert Burns. Only 1 month after Christmas we find ourselves with another evening of tradition – the Burns Supper. This meal centres around a main course of haggis, potato and neeps – ideally followed by a dram of whisky.

We don’t think it’s overly controversial to say that haggis is a dish that divides opinion, with some people loving it whilst others can’t think of anything less appealing.

Here at Maharajahs Indian Restaurant and Takeaway we have an alternate suggestion for the evening – just order a curry! You can invite your friends and family for a less traditional Burns Supper by giving them a great Indian feast – if you really feel the need to stick to tradition we suggest that you enjoy a fine whisky to wash the meal down!
