Here at the Maharajahs Indian Restaurant and Takeaway in Edinburgh we have two main sets of customers. The first of these is locals who know great Indian food and know that they can rely on us to provide it, whether they are dining in or taking advantage of our takeaway service. We recognise a lot of faces (and with some, we don’t even need to ask what they want any more!).
Home Cooked Food on Holiday
Our second group of guests is the more transient customer – people coming to Edinburgh to enjoy the sights and beauty of our city and staying in one of the guest houses or hotels nearby. After a day walking and seeing the sights they are not only looking for a great meal but also somewhere near to their bed! It’s not unusual for people to order food to take away and then try and sneak it back upstairs to sit on their bed and watch TV as they eat.
Whether you fit into the first or second category we don’t mind – we love creating great Indian food that we know you’ll enjoy and will give you all the energy you need for the next day!

To all you people coming to stay in Edinburgh – we can strongly recommend the nearby area of Newington. Almost every house there is a guest house or bed and breakfast – ranging from the reasonable to the fantastic – but all have 2 very special qualities.
Firstly, they are in the beautiful city of Edinburgh we call home – and secondly they are all close enough to our Indian Restaurant for you to stroll along and see us.
The Edinburgh Royal Mile and then a Real Curry
After a long day out sightseeing some of Edinburgh’s fine offerings, there is nothing better than a good hearty meal to recharge the batteries. We are pretty sure that our food betters anything that your guest house can offer – so either come along and dine in our restaurant – or pick up a takeaway and nibble in your bedroom!
